Our office undertook the lighting design of Skyros medieval castle. The monument is a fortification on top of the adjacent Chora settlement, placed at the top of a steep 175 meters high rock. The area of the lighting project is 20 acres and includes the citadel, the buildings at the top of the monument and St. George monastery.
The rock and the monuments around the castle are remarkable and of particular interest for tourist promotion. Using modern technology, the scope is to create a quality lighting proposal in order to highlight the architecture of the castle, its identity and history. In parallel with the above, the aim of the intervention is to stimulate tourism in the area. The lighting proposal can also offer a customized adjustment depending on the use of space during the night.
