Residence in Galatas, Poros
Nestled in the heart of Galatas, Poros, on a sloping plot with stunning views of the island of Poros, a modern duplex residence with a swimming pool has been designed to become the new home of a six-member family from Belgium who have decided to relocate permanently to Greece.
The natural terrain of the plot was fully utilized, allowing the residence to be designed in an elongated, cross-ventilated form that ensures bioclimatic characteristics and ideal living conditions. Every space was designed with a primary focus on connecting with the outdoor environment, offering uninterrupted views of the Saronic Gulf and the Galatas bay.
The architecture of the residence combines simplicity with elegance, incorporating natural materials such as stone and wood that harmonize with the landscape. Large glass surfaces enhance the relationship between interior and exterior spaces, allowing natural light to flood the interiors while maintaining a continuous connection with the unparalleled scenery.
The swimming pool, strategically positioned on the lower level of the residence, serves as a focal point and relaxation area, offering views that “embrace” the sea and the surrounding area. Additionally, the residence is energy-efficient, featuring natural ventilation systems, insulation, and solar energy utilization, making it not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally conscious.
The design of the duplex includes two independent units that communicate harmoniously, providing comfort and privacy for all family members. The functional and spacious interiors are arranged with daily practicality and luxury in mind, while also accommodating special facilities such as a gym, play areas, and guest rooms.
